Résumé

 

Ulrich Hemel began his career as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where he served as a project manager, recruiting director, and senior manager.

Subsequently, he took charge of the Acquisitions and International Corporate Development division at Paul Hartmann AG, a global medical products manufacturer employing more than 10,000 employees and specializing in wound care. In 1998, he was appointed to the Management Board of Paul Hartmann AG, and from 2001 to 2004, he served as Chairman of the Management Board.

Following his tenure at Paul Hartmann, Ulrich Hemel became Chairman of the Management Board at 2D-Holding GmbH (Süddekor-Dakor Group).

He pursued studies in economics, social sciences, Catholic theology, philosophy, and linguistics in Mainz and Rome. He later earned his PhD and habilitation at the University of Regensburg, where he was appointed associate professor in 1996.

In 2003, the Federal Association of German Management Consultants (BDU) awarded Hemel the "BDU Manager Award 2003/2004."

His book "Wert und Werte: Ethics for Managers" was named "Business Book of the Year" by Financial Times in 2005.

Among his numerous roles, Hemel is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and served on the advisory board of Commerzbank in Baden-Württemberg.

From 2012 to 2013, he was the interim Chairman of the Management Board at Casa Reha Group, one of the largest private operators of senior care facilities in Germany.
