The home intensive care sector witnesses a significant merger: Deutsche Fachpflege Gruppe and Bonitas Holding, two of the largest providers in the market, are joining forces.
On December 27, 2018, Advent International Corporation (USA) filed under case number B3-201/18 with the Federal Cartel Office, announcing an agreement to acquire Lavorel Medicare Deutschland GmbH, based in Herford, Germany. Consequently, the transaction is subject to merger control.
Lavorel Medicare includes Bonitas Holding, headquartered in Herford. Advent International had previously acquired Deutsche Fachpflege Gruppe in June 2018. With the addition of Bonitas Holding, Advent International could now establish a new market leader.
Both Deutsche Fachpflege Gruppe and Bonitas Holding are specialists in outpatient intensive care, offering both one-on-one care and intensive care group homes. The merger could result in a consolidated market leader, estimated to serve around 4,000 patients across more than 80 locations and over 100 intensive care group homes.
ConAlliance has already advised numerous investors as commercial and/or M&A advisors in the outpatient intensive care segment (including home intensive care or ventilation care).
