ConAlliance Advises Shareholders on the Sale of Dr. Römer Kliniken

ConAlliance has advised the Römer family on the complete sale of Dr. Römer Kliniken and the associated hospital real estate to Omnicare, based in Unterföhring, Bavaria, and Think.Health, based in Fürstenfeldbruck.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price and details of the transaction.

Dr. Römer Kliniken

The clinic, managed by the Römer family since 1900 and now in its fourth generation, is a well-established institution. Hans Bernhard Römer, who has served as Chief Physician for over 40 years and most recently as Managing Director, will remain with the company in an advisory capacity to support its future development. "We have worked intensively on ensuring the sustainable and future-oriented continuation of the clinic with its long history, fantastic location, and job security. We are convinced that we have created the best possible conditions with the right partners," he emphasizes. Ensuring the continued offering and improvement of treatment options for patients with mental and psychosomatic illnesses in Hirsau was crucial. This continuity is also reflected in the decision to retain the name "Klinik Dr. Römer." Konstantin Römer will remain active in the clinic's management, and Christine Römer will also continue with the company. The position of Chief Physician will be filled on October 1 by Ralph-Michael Karrasch, who currently serves as Chief Physician at the Wendelstein Clinic in Gammertingen and has extensive experience managing psychiatric and psychosomatic clinics. The new owners plan to expand the range of services offered by the acute clinic for psychosomatics and psychotherapy and the specialist clinic for psychiatric and psychosomatic rehabilitation.

Omnicare

Omnicare is the leading pharmaceutical manufacturer of patient-specific infusion solutions. All infusion solutions are produced from finished medicinal products approved in Germany under sterile conditions in the company's state-of-the-art laboratories.

"In Klinik Dr. Römer, we have found an attractive partner to implement our long-term strategy towards an integrated healthcare network," says Managing Director Oliver Tamimi.

Omnicare took a significant step towards integrating clinics in late 2015 with the acquisition of specialty wholesaler Megapharm. This merger secured access to the MegaManager practice software, which is used by approximately 100 hospitals and practices.

Think.Health

Think.Health, founded by Dr. Florian Kainzinger, has substantial experience in the hospital sector. Dr. Kainzinger, a business economist, previously served as Chairman of the Management Board at Labor Berlin, a laboratory merger of the Charité and Vivantes hospitals.
